Two’s Afternoon Workshop
Our Afternoon Workshop is an afternoon program which involves a gradual separation. WVNS believes that the youngest children benefit from having their parents/caregivers close by as they transition into school life. Our Afternoon Workshop is designed to encourage social skills, build friendships and introduce children to age-appropriate materials while they acclimate to school routines.
Parents are invited to attend evening bi-monthly discussion groups. Discussion groups are led by an experienced faculty member and topics range and are tailored to subjects that interest the group. The discussion leader provides a broader picture by helping place children’s behavior into a developmental perspective, parents discover how much they have in common as they share the ups and down of parenting. They give support to each other and develop close bonds.
The Afternoon Workshop meets 2-3 times a week from 1:00 - 2:30. Separation occurs once children have turned 2 and teachers feel that they are ready. The class has up to 8 children and 2-3 teachers in the classroom.
