How the school year begins
For school to be a positive experience, children need to develop trusting relationships with new adults. Before the school year begins, teachers will arrange times to meet with a child and parents at school. Our separated programs begin in half-groups for a shorter day and gradually work up to a full day schedule. Some children need more time than others to separate and acclimate to their new environment. Teachers assess when a child is ready and discuss a plan with parents that is gradual and nurturing.
